Hitman and Nation Multimedia Group have joined hands to organize a “Colour Your Life; European Jazz Concert Series”. This four-part series concert will provide the venue for high quality, world-class jazz artistes, mainly from Europe, to thrill and enthrall ardent jazz aficionados here in Thailand. The concert will be a unique phenomenon for all jazz lovers to experience the ecstasy and sheer delight of top world class jazz performances - one of Thailand’s top events during 2007 – and most definitely not to be missed!
World-class jazz festivals that go back to the 1950s in various locations around the world, such as the more famous in Monterey, Newport and Montreux, have long been popular entertainment and cultural events, attracting the most talented and popular international artistes to perform to enraptured audiences. Taking their cue from this historic esteem, Hitman and Nation Multimedia Group have invited a representative content of current top European Jazz artistes to present their musical talents here in Thailand for the first time in an organized four-part series jazz concert.
This is an especially auspicious year for all Thai people, as it celebrates His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary and also coincides with the 36th Anniversary of The Nation. We are therefore very pleased to be celebrating the propitious Royal Anniversary and our own 36th Anniversary in the same year.
Aeumsree Boonhachairat, President – Nation Multimedia Group’s Corporate Special Events, said the “Colour Your Life; European Jazz Concert Series” features a four-part series, which provides a special opportunity for the Nation Group to partake in celebrations to honour the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s Birthday. It is especially appropriate, as among His Majesty the King’s many personal talents, his renown as a composer and jazz musician has long been lauded, recognizing His Majesty as a King of Jazz.
The overall concept of this “Colour Your Life; European Jazz Concert Series; Always Jazz - Always your lifestyle” in both prominent and yet different colour schemes in four series, is to accentuate the clear concept of the European Jazz style that we have specially selected for all Jazz lovers.
Vichart Jiratiyut, Managing Director of Hitman, a pioneer in the European Jazz market, responsible for organizing the appearance of European Jazz players in this four-part series concert, thinks that today, Jazz music in our country is now well accepted, showing a tendency for rapid growth within the market. Many people consider Jazz too complex, but on experiencing European Jazz introduced by Hitman, presenter of many big Jazz festivals in our country, they have changed their attitude. European Jazz responds well to today’s modern lifestyle, through contemporary jazz, which matches the trend of digital people who don’t want to be considered out-of-date. In important jazz festivals around the world, increasing numbers of European jazz artistes have been invited as star attractions on stage that have introduced a new colourful dimension to these popular venues.
In the four-part series of “Colour Your Life; European Jazz Concert Series”, we are joined by the main alliance of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, AIA, Thai Farmers Bank, Iebua at State Tower, Air France, KLM, Bangkok Airways, 98.5 Breeze FM and Audiophile. All are aware of the steady growth of Thailand’s Jazz market and recognize the trend of appreciating a high quality and beneficial source of music. All members of the main alliance are therefore pleased to support the various activities concerning the jazz concert, including such areas as a variety of workshops to enhance and supply musical knowledge for Thai students at all levels and others interested in music nationwide.
Each artist appearing in the concert will also join in the following activities:

- Exclusive Show in various provinces, providing an opportunity for all local music lovers to join and listen to the music from participating artistes
All artistes appearing in the four-part series in four colours, during this year, are all individually acclaimed, well-known jazz musicians and artistes. The first series artistes will include Katrine Madsen, known as the Danish Queen of Jazz, who comes with a skillful back-up band from Europe, the Jesper Boldilsen Trio, who are a highly popular representative of “Young Jazz in Europe” at this time.
