JazzKamikaze

JazzKamikaze the new generation of jazz musicians are here. Their scope is unbelievable - and at so young an age! Last year Jazz Kamikaze won the prestigious international contest for jazz talent, Young Nordic Jazz Contests. MISSION 1 is their recording debut. The members of the group all come from the fertile scene at The Rhythmic Conservatory in Copenhagen, where they have had the opportunity to listen and play their way through every aspect of music. They are prepared for any challenge. But Mission 1 is about more than that: each member is a super talent on his own; they can’t be held down. As the title implies, JazzKamikaze’s music is close to a suicidal trip. But they hold their course, and reach their inevitable and focused goal on every track. This jazz dances on a tightrope from the first to the last beat. Extremely fascinating and brilliantly performed, this music will captivate any accomplished listener. Although the music combines many styles, it is not what you normally call jazz fusion. The five musicians that make up JazzKamikaze - two Norwegians, two Danes and a Swede - have a different and more far-reaching agenda. Their music is made up of inspirations from all over the world, from well-known to unknown idioms, sudden raids and brainstorms. Morten Schantz, piano; Marius Neset, tenor sax; Daniel Davidsen, guitar; Kristor Brodsgaard, bass; Anton Eger, drums.
